HALES CORNERS LUTHERAN FOUNDATION
The HCL Foundation is a non-profit organization that was created to support Hales Corners Lutheran as well as provide financial guidance to the members of the church. I met with a few of the Foundation’s members to discuss a refresh of their materials, as well as strategies to re-introduce the congregation to the Foundation. They wanted to not only encourage generous giving and stewardship in the present, but also guide members to the right resources to give them them a successful financial future be able to leave a legacy of generational wealth behind them.
DIGITAL
In the addition to a refreshed page on the church website (which is currently under construction as we develop a brand new site), the biggest digital pieces that I created were a slide that ran during services, and a monthly email. The email was written by a member of the Foundation, and then I edited it, rewrote as necessary, formatted it, and sent the email out. The emails are sent out to over 3500 addresses, and have an average of a 59% open rate.
Foundation Video
When tasked with creating an informal video about The Foundation and generational wealth, I decided to include the 1-year-old grandson of the Foundation’s Chairperson in the video. It’s not necessarily a subject that everyone is interested in, but when you throw a cute baby in the mix, who doesn’t want to watch?
Including his grandson also cemented the importance of generational wealth and leaving a legacy behind for those you love.
The members of the Foundation that were tasked with this project were incredibly focused on some of the older generations who are more established financially or closer to retirement.
It was important to me that we didn’t leave out Millennials and Gen Z, as they (we) need just as much help with planning a successful financial future. Even though we are not as close to retirement, and might not be as focused on leaving a legacy and creating generational wealth, The Foundation could be just as much of a benefit (and vice-versa) to younger generations.
In order to create an easy-to-follow guide to financial planning, the Generational Next Steps Cards were created.
